Article II

Membership

Jurisdiction

This organization shall consist of locals of Catholic School Teachers or educational or other workers organized in conformity with the provisions of this Constitution.

Categories of Membership

There shall be the following categories of membership:

  1. Regular memberships shall be open to teachers and other employees in Catholic educational institutions. Teachers in Catholic Schools shall be defined as classroom teachers, guidance counselors, librarians, department heads, nurses, and other members of the professional staff up to and including Vice Principal where not prohibited by local constitution.

    Memberships At Large shall be open to Catholic School Teachers and other employees in Catholic educational institutions who do not work within the jurisdiction of any affiliated local.

  2. Honorary memberships are given in recognition of outstanding achievement or contribution to the cause of Catholic education.
  3. Sustaining memberships are given to persons who support the aims and objectives of the organization.

Discrimination Prohibited

No discrimination shall be shown toward locals or individual members or applicants for membership because of race, creed, sex, age or national origin. Locals may establish procedures for admission of new members except that no discrimination shall ever be shown toward individual members or applicants for membership because of race, creed, sex, age or national origin.

Voting Privileges

Any member of a local in good standing or member at large in good standing shall be eligible to vote in any referendum.
