Article I

Name, Office and Objectives

Name

This organization shall be known as the National Association of Catholic School Teachers, hereinafter referred to as NACST.

Principal Office

The Principal Office of this organization shall be established by the Executive Committee, where all books, records and financial documents shall be kept.

Objectives

The aims and objectives of this organization shall be:

  1. To promote the welfare and rights of Catholic School Teachers.
  2. To promote the welfare of Catholic Schools.
  3. To determine the needs of Catholic Schools and Catholic School Teachers.
  4. To preserve diversity in education by providing and coordinating Political Action on behalf of Catholic Schools and Catholic School Teachers and by seeking legislation which will provide a just share of educational aid for students in private and parochial schools.
  5. To assist and advise Catholic School Teachers who desire to organize for purposes of collective bargaining.
  6. To serve as a conduit of information to the public at large on the assets of Catholic Schools.
  7. To function as liaison between Catholic School Teachers and those responsible for the operation of Catholic Schools.
  8. To gather and disseminate information concerning issues of importance to Catholic Schools.
