Welcome to the National Association of Catholic School Teachers Online

The National Association of Catholic School Teachers is an organization of elementary and secondary lay teachers working for the welfare of teachers and students.  NACST was founded in 1978 and has over 1100 members across the United States.

In the structure and successful operation of Catholic schools, the lay teacher is central.  Good lay teachers make good schools.  The Catholic school lay teacher not only knows how to direct the spiritual, educational and personal development of children in the classroom, he/she also joins with his/her colleagues in an effective organization to advance the interests of teachers, students and schools through collective action.  That is why NACST has made the development of collective bargaining one of its prime responsibilities.

The National Association of Catholic School Teachers is a democratically run organization, controlled by its members and responsive to their needs. Through its headquarters in Philadelphia and strong local organizations. NACST is committed to achieving justice and dignity for Catholic school teachers throughout the country.
