Current Contract - Article 4 - Additional Responsibilities

A.  Each teacher shall be present at the School 20 minutes before the opening of the School day each morning unless the Principal specifies a later time for a specific day. During the 1999-2000 School year, teachers assigned to morning duty are responsible for students at 8:15 a.m. Each teacher shall be in the School yard before the bell rings at 8:25 a.m. to bring the class into the School building.

B.  Following dismissal of students at the end of a class day, each teacher shall remain at the School  as follows:

1.  Until the teacher's students have left the School, or another authorized person has taken responsibility for supervision of after-school activities,

2.  For such time as is necessary to give special assistance to students who have requested or who  require such assistance;

3.  For the duration of any faculty or in-service meeting held that day; and

4.  Until at least 20 minutes after the close of the School day.

C.  The School reserves the right to adjust the starting and dismissal time for students, provided the normal work day for teachers does not exceed 6 hours and 50 minutes. Teachers are required to sign in and out each day indicating arrival and departure time.

D.  Each teacher must attend all liturgies or other religious celebrations involving students of the School  or pertinent to the mission of the School as designated by the Principal.

E.  Each teacher must attend all scheduled performances of the Christmas show and the Spring concert.

F.  Each teacher whose class is receiving sacraments for the first time must attend rehearsals and the appropriate liturgies scheduled for that activity.

G.  Each teacher must participate as assigned by the Principal in School activity relating to evaluation and certification of the School by the Middle States Association.

H.  Each teacher may be required to teach religion in accordance with the direction of the Principal and resources provided by the School.

I.  Each teacher may be assigned responsibility by the Principal for one or more co-curricular activities, and shall be present to supervise students in these activities as necessary.

J.  When students are not required to attend classes to allow teachers to attend professional meetings, teachers are required to attend such meetings.

K.  The School shall publish a yearly calendar in September. Changes in the calendar shall be published at the beginning of each month.

L.  Regular faculty meetings shall be held monthly. An agenda and related materials shall be distributed to teachers on the day before the meeting when possible. A teacher may request the Principal to place a specific topic on the agenda, and this request shall not be denied unreasonably. The Principal shall have the right to call a special faculty meeting for any reason the Principal deems appropriate; except in emergent situations, the Principal shall give notice of a special faculty meeting at least three (3) days in advance of the meeting. The Principal shall make every effort to conclude each faculty meeting within a reasonable time after the end of the normal School day.
