A.  Each teacher shall be available for assignment during the period from September 1 through June 30 of each school year. The School calendar shall provide for not more than 181 instructional days and not more than 5 days on which the teachers are required to report for work but School is not in session for the students, but this limitation shall not preclude teachers from fulfilling all responsibilities specifically stated in this Agreement.

B.  Each teacher is engaged to assist in fulfilling the religious education ministry of the School.

C.  Each teacher shall undertake and perform the customary professional responsibilities of a teacher subject to the direction and supervision of the Principal.

D.  Each teacher shall provide instruction in a professional manner in the class assigned by the Principal.

E.  In addition to teaching responsibilities, each teacher shall:

1.  Abide by all School policies, including those set forth in the Faculty Handbook, subject to the provisions of Article Thirteen, paragraph A;

2.  Supervise students and School activities as assigned by the Principal;

3.  Undertake responsibility for the care of School property, including all classrooms;

4.  Maintain student discipline;

5.  Attend faculty in-service and grade area meetings-,

6.  Attend teacher pre-service meetings and in-service meetings,

7.  Attend parent-teacher conferences; and

8.  Perform all general duties reasonably associated with the School program as assigned by the Principal.

F.  Each teacher shall attend the first meeting of the Home School Association during each school year, and the faculty roundtable meeting of the Home School Association. Only the faculty representatives to the Home School Association will be required to attend other meetings of the Home School Association.

G.  Each teacher shall be assigned not less than three (3) preparation periods in the course of a five-day School week.
