Fourth Year 2000-2001 & Fifth Year (2001-2002)

Normal step increments will be paid.

a) Fourth Year The 1999-2000 salary schedule will be increased by a percentage equivalent to 75% of the cost of living Percentage increase for the period January 1, 1999 through January 6, 2000.*

b) Fifth Year The 2000-2001 salary schedule will be increased by a percentage equivalent to 75% of the cost of living percentage increase for the period January 1, 2000 through January 6, 2001.*
 
 

In no event will the percentage rate increase applied to the prior schedule be less than 2% nor more than 5%. a) The High School Corporation further agrees to compensate those teachers with a Masters or Masters plus thirty (30) hours of credit and who have been on Step Ten (10) for at least one year an additional four hundred dollars ($400) for those teachers with a Masters; and to five hundred dollars ($500) for those with a Masters plus thirty (30) hours of credit. Teachers with a Bachelor's degree who have been on the maximum step for at least one year will receive a stipend of two hundred dollars ($200). This additional sum is not considered as a step raise but is granted as recognition of academic attainment and years of service of those teachers.

b) Increments are based on years of experience.

c) Lay teachers who teach less than five (5) teaching days per week will be paid on a pro-rated basis of the Basic Lay Teachers' Salary Schedule.

d) Full-time lay guidance counselors will be paid for work beyond the regular school year on a pro-rated, per diem. Guidance Counselors shall work for no more than an additional two weeks beyond the teachers' regular school year. The designation of when the additional time will be served will be at the sole discretion of the principal.

e) By September, 1973, all non-certified teachers shall have gained their teaching certificates. Failure to comply with this provision will cause the teacher to forfeit his/her increment until such time as he/she has gained his/her teaching certificate.

f) Substitute teachers will be paid on the basis of the agreed-upon salary schedule when the substitute teacher has been brought in to fill a permanent vacancy for the duration of the school year.

g) In determining whether a teacher has qualified to be paid under the Masters plus 30 lane, only those credits which are directly related to the teacher's major or minor field or other courses approved by the principal shall be counted towards the 30 credits. This clause shall only apply to new teachers hired on or after June 30, 1973.

h) Effective November 17, 1997 teachers who were on Step 7 during 1996-1997 will be placed on the new step 7(a). Overpayments to those Teachers from September 1, through November 17, 1997 may be kept by said Teachers.

* The cost of living will be based upon the U.S. Dept. of Labor, Consumer Price Index for all Urban Consumers, U.S. City Average for the periods of January 1, 1999-January 6, 2000; and January 1, 2000-January 6, 2001.
