Current Contract - Article XXII - General

1. There will be no reprisals of any kind taken against any teacher by reason of his/her membership in the Association or participation in its activities.

2. If negotiation meetings between the Corporation and the Association are scheduled during a school day, the representatives of the Association will be relieved from all regular duties without loss of pay as necessary in order to permit their participation in such meetings. When it is necessary pursuant to Article III (Grievance Procedure), for a School Representative, member of the PR&R Committee or other representatives designated by the Association to investigate a grievance or attend a grievance meeting or hearing during a school day, he/she will, upon notice to his/her principal or immediate superior and to the Chairperson of the Corporation or his designee by the Chairperson of the PR&R Committee be released without loss of pay as necessary in order to permit participation in the foregoing activities. Any teacher whose appearance in such investigations, meetings, or hearings as a witness is necessary will be accorded the same right. The Association agrees that these rights will not be abused.

3. The expense for printed copies of this Agreement shall be shared equally by the Corporation and the Association.

4. If any provision of this Agreement or any application of the Agreement to any employee or group of employees shall be found contrary to law, then such provision or application shall not be deemed valid and subsisting, except to the extent permitted by law, but all other provisions or applications will continue in full force and effect.

5. Whenever a grievance is settled in which the language of the contract is clarified or amended, a side letter will be added to the contract to explain all aspects of the agreed settlement and this side letter will become an addendum to this agreement and ultimately incorporated into the main contract.
